Sputnick by David Brieske
Futurist and Dada visual artists in Europe were the first ones to consider sound as art (see La Radia) at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, different generations of artists and movements such as fluxus, have expanded its scope and integrated it into installation, film, video, sculpture and performance art. Even though sound art has become widely used amongst artists, it is still considered one of the difficult art forms. THT radio is very please to podcast pieces by visual artists who engage in sound art as well as contemporary composers, poets, storytellers and performance artist.
